Jessica Harper Uncanceled

A conservative take on news, culture and life. 1984 was a warning, not a playbook.

Jessica Harper Is Not Woke available on Kindle and in paperback

“The first anti-woke novel ever published — and it’s hysterical.” Marcia Gaines

Jessica Harper Is Not Woke tells the story of a conservative mom living on Georgia’s coast, whose life falls apart in the space of 48 hours after she outs herself as “not woke” at a dinner party.

A chain reaction of events – including a disastrous appearance on a shock jock’s radio show – causes Jess to lose her friends, her job and (nearly) her sanity.

But when a local newspaper owner offers her the chance to head up a new magazine, The Truvian, she thinks her problems are over… when in fact they’re only just beginning.

This rich satirical novel features an unforgettable palette of characters including Jess’s woke nemesis Kayla Cobb, her alcoholic saviour Porter Montrose, loyal husband Brandon, ditzy best friend April and a motley assortment of statue removers, knee takers, social justice warriors, semi-mythical authors, devious spies and a ragbag army of eccentric journalists.

Oh, and there’s a car-munching alligator called Colin Hanks.

At the heart of the story is one big question: should she back down to the woke mob or stand up to them and risk losing everything?

What the people say…

If you are one of the many who have grown weary of radical activism and political correctness turned up to 11, then this book is for you. Jessica Harper Is Not Woke tells a smart, funny, and heartfelt story that takes a frankly moderate view as it satirizes the more destructive aspects of wokeism.

“I devoured this 281-page book in scarcely three days, sneaking in a few pages here and there at the expense of yard work, hiring someone to fix my pool screen, and other pressing things I should have been doing. The story is so fresh and fun that I found the book practically impossible to put down.” Rob, Amazon

“Everything in this book is true, which of course is why liberals will hate it and leave one star reviews. There are many hilarious examples of wokery going overboard but my favorite was the video being shown at a mandatory diversity training class where a new hire requests that a persons screen saver on their laptop, which is a picture of a field, be removed because she has hay fever. Of course her request is granted.” Amazon reviewer

“A huge breath of fresh air. Let’s hope this is the first of many more anti-woke novels to come.”

“The anti-woke angle aside, this is hysterically funny. I would consider it a great comic novel up there with The Thursday Murder Club seriesBridget Jones’ Diary and A Confederacy of Dunces.”

“Finally someone has done it, published some conservative fiction that skewers the woke nonsense. I hope it sells a million copies and the publishing industry weeps for a long time.”

“It’s sunshine between two covers. I laughed from start to finish at this wonderful tale of an everyday, conservative Georgia mom who takes on the local wokerati in her hometown of Truvy City. Have recommended to all my Republican friends.”

“I finished it, bought three copies for friends online and then started reading it again.”

“Masterfully done. It’s about real life and real people. Unwoke and so funny. A much overdue kick in the teeth for the woke poseurs.”

“Pure bliss. What a book. Joyful. Sequel, please!”

  6. Thanks. Have had lots of free downloads and paid sales already but in terms of reviews only wokeys hammering my star rating. Hopefully I just have to wait for all the real people to read their copies!
